A Compose service mounts the Docker daemon socket. Whoever controls this container can drive the Docker API and start a privileged container, which is equivalent to root on the host (a read-only mount does not prevent this).

Category: SECURITY · Engine rule severity: WARNING
How to fix it
Do not mount /var/run/docker.sock into application containers. If a tool such as a reverse proxy needs container metadata, put a filtering Docker socket proxy in front of the daemon and expose only the read-only endpoints it needs.
